Common symptoms
- High fever (40°C / 104°F) lasting 2–7 days
- Severe headache, especially behind the eyes
- Muscle and joint pain ("breakbone fever")
- Nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite
- Skin rash appearing 2–5 days after fever onset
- Mild bleeding from nose or gums
Warning signs (seek immediate care)
- Severe abdominal pain
- Persistent vomiting
- Bleeding that doesn't stop
- Extreme fatigue or restlessness
- Blood in vomit or stool
